Kobe Bryant Returns to Practice

 Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant returned to practice Thursday and Coach Phil Jackson says Bryant will play in the exhibition game. The Lakers face Seattle in Bakersfield on Thursday night in the first of six exhibition games in nine days. They lost their first two exhibition games to Golden State last week in Honolulu. Rockies Use Six Run Fourth Inning to Beat Diamondbacks, Sweep Their Way into World Series

The Colorado Rockies trailed 1-0 heading into the fourth inning but put six runs on the board in the decisive inning to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 on Monday night and sweep their best-of-seven NLCS series 4-0. Monday Night Football: NY Giants Handle Business on the Road as they Drop Flightless Falcons

Indians Inching Closer to World Series with Game Three Win Over Red Sox

Jake Westbrook threw 6 2/3 innings allowing just two runs on seven hits while the Indians bats battered Red Sox starter Daisuke Matsuzaka for four runs over six innings as Cleveland beat

Scott Pederson Fired as Nebraska AD After Lackluster Football Success

Nebraska athletic director Steve Pederson was fired Monday, two days after the school’s once-mighty football team was rocked with its worst home loss in nearly a half-century.Pederson and head football coach Bill Callahan have come under fire after a disappointing string of performances this season. Heat intensified after back-to-back losses to Missouri and Oklahoma State by a combined 86-20, leaving the Cornhuskers with a 4-3 record.

A 45-14 loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday was the worst at home since a 31-0 drubbing by Missouri in 1958. Click here to read full story

Second Co-Defendant Takes Plea in OJ Simpson Case

 A second co-defendant in the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case said Monday that he will plead guilty to a reduced charge and testify against Simpson and four others in the alleged hotel room theft of sports collectibles from two memorabilia dealers.Walter Alexander told a judge he will plead guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery, a felony.
